Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account and profile: email, name, institution, study year and an optional profile photo. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored in our application databases or logs.
• Usage: questions, cited pages, selected subject, feedback and the usage needed to apply your plan limits.
• Account security: session and device records used to keep your account secure and enforce the device policy.
• Payments: the plan or package, amount, order status and the mobile-payment transaction ID you submit. We never receive your payment PIN or card details.

Why we use it

• To run your account and keep you signed in securely.
• To answer your questions and show the cited textbook page.
• To verify payments and activate the access you bought.
• To support you, prevent abuse and improve the service.

AI processing

Your question, the textbook excerpts retrieved for it and any image you attach are sent to our AI service providers to generate an answer. We do not include your name or email in that request. Provider handling and retention are governed by their terms. Do not enter patient-identifying or sensitive personal information into a question.

Sharing

We use providers for authentication, hosting, AI inference and payment verification. They process data only to provide those services. We may disclose data where the law requires it.

Retention

Account and usage data are kept while your account is active. Trial content is removed after 24 hours and shared links expire after 7 days. You can export or delete your account from the Account app. Some payment, security or audit records may be retained where required for accounting, fraud prevention or legal obligations.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to production systems is limited to authorised staff, and account sessions can be revoked from the Account app.

Your choices

• Edit your profile from your Identity page.
• Export your data from Account → Your data.
• Delete your account and associated content from Account → Your data.
• Contact support to correct a record or ask a privacy question.

Children

Ask4Exam is intended for medical students and is not directed at children under 16.
